Seville Street Art

There are two sides to Seville, both equally beautiful. Lining the walk by the river are some incredible pieces of graffiti which in my opinion can be just as fantastic to look at as the churches and museums. I think its brilliant that Spain has embraced graffiti as an art form, in Madrid in particular there are some incredible displays. I will make a trip there and photograph them as well sometime before the year is up. I think this is an example of when you allow a problem to exist it ceases to be a problem. In Seville young people have been given entire areas to graffiti as much as they wish, including initiatives to bring well-known graffiti artists to spray along the river bank in 2010 and the result has been that far fewer buildings have been defaced and the riverbanks are a mass of incredible colour and vivacity. The same can be seen in the Netherlands with drugs and prostitution.. by acknowledging that certain problems may never go away far greater control can be had over them.

 Oh and to update, I made a decision on the new flat, I'm going for the charmingly decrepit one with the roof garden!
